Swiss Water is a completely chemical-free way to remove caffeine from coffee while retaining the original flavors and characteristics. The method is patented and practiced in Canada, and it is built around natural and renewable elements. The decaffeinating process is done to green beans before they get dried again and shipped to our roastery in Tampere.

Caffeine is removed with the aid of pure water and active carbon filtering. When the water that contains caffeine goes through the carbon filter, the resulting caffeine-free water can be used again for processing several different batches of coffee. Since the method involves no added chemicals, 80% of the used water can be returned clean to the local rivers and streams.

Fun fact: According to industry standards, coffee is considered decaf when it has a maximum of 3% caffeine left. Swiss Water Decaf coffee has 0.01%.
