Robusta’s favor is rising rapidly. It is most important variety of Coffea Canephora and it is popular ingredient of commercial coffee blends.
India and Vietnam are perhaps the best known countries that grow Robusta. New processing and cultivation methods have enabled Robusta to gain popularity in the specialty coffee market. Resilience to climate change is also better than Arabicas and with this, attitudes towards Robusta have changed dramatically in a positive way.
The flavors of Arabica and Robusta should be tasted as completely unique taste experiences due to their different taste profiles. Typically Robusta's mouthfeel is full-bodied and the taste is very rich and it gives a durable and thick crema when used for espresso. The caffeine content of Robusta can be up to twice higher than Arabicas.
